Tee Ball (4-6 Year-olds)
Tee Ball Softball is for girls 4-6 years old who want to learn the
fundamentals of hitting and fielding. In Tee Ball Softball, players hit a
ball off a batting tee. Rules of the game may be varied to
accommodate the need for teaching and should focus on fun, fitness,
and fundamentals. The primary goals of Tee Ball Softball are to
instruct children in the fundamentals of softball and to allow them to
experience the value of teamwork. No live pitching is permitted in this
division. Generally, the diamond used is a 60-foot diamond.
The Tee Ball Division is co-ed but may be structured as a baseball or
softball program depending on numbers. FLAG LL has in the past and
plans to have both a baseball Tee Ball and softball Tee Ball program.
This league typically starts after Mother’s Day with a few practices
prior to the start of the season. Games typically start at 6pm at the
Fairview Legion Field 4(unless otherwise noted) and are scheduled
most nights of the week with games scheduled on Saturday mornings
at times as well. The season for this league will end by mid-July. 1-2
games are using scheduled each week.
Tee Ball players use bats and balls (baseballs and softballs)
designated specifically for use in this division Star 5 softer/safer type
of ball. The roster size for a Tee Ball team averages 7-10 players.
After completing a Little League volunteer application and passing a
required national background check, parents may become involved in
practices, and be eligible as coaches, managers, umpires, local
league board members and other volunteer positions within the
league. No prior coaching experience is needed to become a coach.
FLAG LL is here to help coaches with practice plans and help guide
as needed. Parents are strongly encouraged to become involved in all
divisions of Little League.
